A key goal is to help the reader understand the importance of the conservation required to help preserve such a unique church.

Dating from the early 1800's, the Church of the Ascension is listed on the National Inventory of Architectural Heritage (Reg No. 20856005). The present church is built on the location of an earlier medieval church. It is protected structure (RPS ID 01375)
